Programme Notes
Four Red Stars On a Gradient Sky was written between May and June 2020, whilst a lockdown took place in the United Kingdom, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
 
During the period, I spent most of the time in my room at the Sir Charles Groves Hall(where students from the Royal Northern College of Music lived) in Manchester. From the room’s window view, four red lights from construction tower cranes constantly shone while stopping at different places every dusk, just like stars.
